Steam Traps

Frequently underestimated as a significant contributor to efficient plant operation, steam traps are increasingly recognized as a small piece of equipment with a large role in optimizing plant efficiency and reduced environmental costs. As energy costs increase, it is imperative to mitigate steam losses through properly specified, functioning traps.  Steam traps are used wherever steam is used.  Their basic function is to allow condensate to flow, while preventing the passage of steam until it has given up its heat before condensing back into water.  From hospitals to refineries, there are millions of steam traps in use worldwide.
